Curriculum Writer and Teacher

Position Description:  Candidate will work independently and collaboratively in writing test prep curriculum for specific state teacher certification exams.  Candidate may also teach on-camera lessons for our on-demand online prep videos as well as teach live prep classes and provide one-on-one tutoring.

Required Qualifications: At minimum, candidate should hold a Bachelor’s Degree with coursework focused on the specific content area in which he/she will write curriculum.  Individual must also possess exceptional teaching skills, writing ability, creativity, analytical skills, and research skills and be able to work independently and meet deadlines.  Basic proficiency in PowerPoint is also required.

Preferred Qualifications: Master’s Degree in a related field. Two or more years of teaching experience, including curriculum writing experience.

Compensation: $3000-$5000 per project for curriculum writing (individual working full-time will typically complete one project per month; individual working part-time will typically complete one project every 2-3 months).  $35-$50/hour for teaching (including both live and on-camera teaching) and tutoring, dependent on qualifications.

Hours/Locations: Position openings in both the Los Angeles and San Francisco Bay areas.  Individual may elect to work full-time or part-time.  Schedule is flexible and individual will work primarily from home; however, individual will periodically (once every 1-2 weeks) be asked to meet with our curriculum team at one of our local offices, and during specific periods of video production, will be asked to come into the office more regularly.  Teaching/tutoring will be performed primarily from individual's home via our online classroom interface (reliable high speed internet connection required).

This is a consultant/independent contractor position.
