FTCE Exam Overview

The Florida Teacher Certification Examinations (FTCE) are a set of exams designed to assess subject matter knowledge for individuals planning to teach in Florida public schools. The specific FTCE exam that a candidate must take typically depends on the subject and grade-level that candidate plans to teach and is determined by the Bureau of Educator Certification (BEC) after submitting your application for certification. Many candidates may first need to pass the FTCE General Knowledge Test (GK); those planning to teach at the elementary school level typically need to pass the FTCE Elementary Education K-6 (060) exam; while those wishing to teach a specific subject at the secondary school level will likely be required to pass a FTCE Subject Area exam, such as Mathematics, Science, Social Science or English.

Please select your FTCE exam below to view detailed info for that specific test.
